Nicki Minaj Says Drake “Single-Handedly Changed Music Forever”

Nicki Minaj is congratulating Drake on his achievements after the former labelmates rekindle their longtime friendship.

The relationship between Drake and Nicki Minaj started out inseparable, but along the way, the two had multiple falling outs. The Young Money artists may have never lost respect and love for each other over the years, but they certainly lost touch a few times. Back in 2015, when Drake and Nicki’s then-boyfriend Meek Mill were beefing, Nicki was forced into an uncomfortable position where she had to choose to be in Switzerland.

The Pinkprint rapper was vocal about how upset the feud made her and how badly she wanted it to end, especially since she was often in the middle of it. “They’re men, grown-ass men. It’s between them,” she told the New York Times in 2015. “It doesn’t make me feel good. You don’t ever want to choose sides between people you love. It’s ridiculous. I just want it to be over.” While the beef that spawned unforgettable diss tracks like “Back To Back” put a strain on Nicki and Drake’s relationship for quite some time, they later reconciled.

In 2017 while he was on stage at the Billboard Music Awards, Drake told Nicki Minaj how happy he was that they made up and said he couldn’t see it any other way. That was the year the powerful Young Money trio reunited on Nicki’s track “No Frauds” when she was beefing with Remy Ma. Nicki has spoken out before about how Drake is “always mad at [her] for something,” as it seems to be the dynamic between them. That statement may have prepared some fans for the next time they seemed to become estranged after a hate campaign that was perpetuated against Nicki Minaj saw Drake remain tight-lipped for years and never once defended his Young Money day one.

In December 2018, Drake and Nicki unfollowed each other on Instagram, which sparked rumors that they weren’t friends – again. This followed Drizzy going on his own campaign to make up with people he previously had beef with, which happened to include Minaj’s ex, Meek Mill. He ended up collaborating with Meek on the track “Going Bad” for the Philadelphia rapper’s Championships album in 2018. The following year, they released a music video for the song, and Nicki remixed it, calling out “old boy” and her “brother” for trying to end her.

Alas, Nicki and Drake did eventually reconcile once again, and fans only hope it’s for good this time. Nicki announced her intentions to retire from music in September 2019, but she re-emerged in 2020, earning two No. 1s on the Billboard Hot 100 chart that year in close succession. She soon went into hibernation again after giving birth to her first son, who she calls “Papa Bear.” When Nicki resurfaced with a surprise drop earlier this month, she took to Instagram Live to announce to fans and was joined by none other than Drake.

The two expressed a mutual love and respect for each other, and Nicki lauded Drake for being the G.O.A.T. and says he single-handedly got her out of her writer’s block. Drizzy also sent Nicki the track that has become the biggest off of the Beam Me Up Scotty re-release, “Seeing Green,” which features Drake himself and Lil Wayne. Drake said it didn’t feel right with Nicki not being on the song and that it’s more epic that way. “It’s just your world, nobody does this sh*t better than you,” Drake told Nicki. “When you’re gone I’m not gonna lie we really miss you and we really miss your presence, we miss the bars and we miss the excitement that you bring.”

Drake was honored with the Artist of the Decade Award at the Billboard Music Awards this year, and Nicki was quick to congratulate him on Instagram on the day of the show. “Single handedly changed music & the music business forever. Congratulations @champagnepapi,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.

Drake also took home the Billboard Award for Top Streaming Artist pushing his total number of trophies over fifty. Nicki says he is the greatest to ever do it and looks up to him not just as an artist but as a human being, who she often says is really smart.

One thing that Drake and Nicki have proved is that they will always fix their relationship no matter what goes down between them. When they say they love and support each other, they mean that. While they’ve had a rocky past at times, their future has never looked brighter.

Skillibeng Earns 1st Billboard Hot 100 Song With Nicki Minaj “Crocodile Teeth (Remix)”

Skillibeng gets his first Billboard Hot 100 song.

The dancehall deejay earned himself a Billboard Hot 100 hit with his Nicki Minaj assisted “Crocodile Teeth (Remix)“. The song was released on May 13 as part of Nicki’s “Beam Me Up Scotty” mixtape, now out on all streaming services.

The song debuted at number 100 on Monday, May 24, making this Skillibeng’s first US Billboard entry. “Crocodile Teeth (Remix)” has since cracked 2.5 million streams on YouTube and the same for Spotify, while getting 1.3 million streams on Apple Music. The original single already has over 20 million views on YouTube.

Ironically, Skillibeng was mercilessly dragged on Twitter some weeks ago, following his announcement about the collab with Nicki Minaj. The “Mr. Universe” deejay posted and soon after deleted a cover art displaying the collaboration with his October 2020 track, which had been hot in the streets for months before. This led fans to believe the artiste was lying and seeking clout, using Nicki Minaj’s name.

After the big drop on Nicki’s mixtape, the artiste was again trending as social media users who previously accused him were put to shame.

Skillibeng has perhaps been enjoying the significant boost and bolstered International reach since the song’s release. The remix trended at number 1on YouTube for three consecutive days after its release.

The gun-play track is currently the deejay’s biggest hit since getting his break in 2019 with “Brik Pan Brick.”

The artiste has been on the rise since, with a wide fan base, even wider now given the latest developments. Fans had projected that the “Coke” deejay would undoubtedly be making strides in the industry locally and internationally, and as such, he should take his music seriously.

As the news broke the internet on Monday, May 24, social media users were quick to commend the artiste, with hopes that he will use the opportunities from this new development wisely.

“Skilli get a big buss internationally, a just him fi know how him ago capitalize affa dis,” one person commented. Another added, “Skillibeng is the next dancehall superstar. I feel he has the potential to be bigger than any other artist right now.”

The remix with Nicki Minaj came just a few weeks after Skillibeng made links with international rappers Rich The Kid and Jay Critch and collaborated on “Real Boss.”

Nicki Minaj Unintentionally Embarrasses Cuban Doll For Butchering Her Lyrics

Nicki Minaj says she didn’t intentionally embarrassed Cuban Doll for butchering her lyrics on Skillibeng’s “Crocodile Teeth (Remix).”

Nicki Minaj’s Beam Me Up Scotty has been making strides in the industry, and along with fans and followers, other rappers have received the new release with positive comments and feedback.

Perhaps Cuban Doll is a big fan of the queen’s new release as on Saturday, May 22, she made a post on Instagram and captioned it with what she perceived to be a quote from Nicki’s remix of Skillibeng‘s “Crocodile Teeth”, an addition to the “Beam Me Up Scotty” mixtape.

The “Let It Blow” rapper posted a shot of her squatting in a bodysuit and heels. “My type of gal wanna know da opps out,” she captioned.

Nicki Minaj slid into the comments section of the post to correct the young rapper, typing out the correct lyrics.

“Might tek a gyal man, I know da opps out,” she wrote. Perhaps no offense was taken by Cuban Doll as she edited the caption and basically went on with her day.

“Beam Me Up Scotty” was released on all streaming services for the first time last week. The “Moment 4 Life” rapper added three new songs to the mixtape; “Seeing Green” ft. Lil Wayne and Drake, “Fractions,” and a remix of Dancehall artiste Skillibeng’s hit record “Crocodile Teeth.”

While it is not new for the Trinidadian rapper to tap into her Caribbean side in her songs, perhaps it is the dialect that sparked the confusion for Cuban Doll.

Nicki Minaj later clarified that her intention was not to embarrassed the young rapper, but just to correct her. “I hope y’all know I love Cuban,” Nicki wrote on her IG Story. “I was having fun w|her. I don’t try 2 embarrass ppl I f** wit. That’s corny. I’ll never correct a lyric ever again chile. Boom.”

Still, the Barbz are making a big deal of the mishap, exclaiming that Nicki’s lyrics were butchered by the 23-year-old rapper.

“If you don’t understand patois just use another verse bc girl,” one person suggested. Another adds, “Just archive the whole post,” while another ordered, “Say my queen lyrics properly or don’t say it at all.”

Cuban Doll was quick to make the corrections, and has so far made no comments on the issue.

Nicki Minaj Dons Skin Tight Dress & Shares Adorable Photo Of Son Papa Bear

The son of rap star Nicki Minaj has captured the hearts of fans as he’s made another appearance on his mother’s social feeds. Although she hasn’t disclosed his name as yet, the eight-month-old baby is affectionately called Papa Bear by his mom, and for fans, that’s his name!

It’s the second time Nicki Minaj shared images of her son since January when he was around three months old.

The new images are from behind-the-scenes footage captured as she promotes her new song with Drake and Lil Wayne, “Seeing Green.”

Among the photos share is one with Nicki Minaj is styled in a flattering gown, and her husband Kenneth Petty is wearing a tailored tuxedo. Papa Bear is seen wearing a white tuxedo with matching leggings and his cute bare feet peeking out.

Other photos show her husband holding their son in his arms while they pose for their first Christmas portrait.

Nicki Minaj is also showing a different side to her as she shares her moments as a working mother. In the middle of a backyard photoshoot, she turns to someone off-camera and asks that they take Papa Bear inside because the sun is too hot. “Get him out this hot sun,” she says.

Nicki Minaj also turned some heads on the Gram when she posted some photos of herself donning a skin-tight dress showing off her post baby body.

The rapper, who has in the past said she was excited about motherhood, shared that she’s enjoying her moments with her son.

“I’ve also been completely overwhelmed with joy & fulfillment in the world of Papa Bear,” she wrote to fans who are finally happy to see the rapper after her almost year-long hiatus before and after her pregnancy. “Each day creates a new & fascinating, magical memory that I hide far away into a little cute compartment of my heart; vowing never to forget any of it.”

Meanwhile, she also shared her son’s favorite movie is Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, and he has said his first words among them- “mama.”

She also shared that he was “bopping” to “Seeing Green” before she released it, which is a turn in events as she was unable to finish her album because it appears that Papa Bear did not like rap music while in the tummy.

“He hated rap music when he was in my tummy. He’d kick rlly hard. But he was bopping a lil bit to #SeeingGreen b4 I released it. While pregnant I could only play him soothing music like Enya/classical, etc. he’d be more relaxed. It’s why i couldn’t rlly complete my album preggers,” she replied to a fan who asked, “do you play your songs to papa bear?”

Give Young Dancehall Stars Like Skillibeng A Chance Says Veteran Producer Johnny Wonder

Many people were in disbelief last week when Skillibeng teased that he might have an upcoming collaboration with rap superstar Nicki Minaj. In fact, after he removed the post from Instagram, he was ridiculed as a lot of people questioned the validly of his claims of getting Nicki Minaj on the track.

When Nicki dropped her re-released 2009 mixtape Beam Me Up Scotty on digital streaming platforms, Skillibeng‘s naysayers were left with their mouths open as a remix of Skillibeng’s “Crocodile Teeth” was prominently featured. The video of the remix was put on YouTube last Friday, May 14, and has already surpassed 1.7 million views and is still climbing.

The single is also performing well on local charts and is currently the number one trending song on YouTube’s local chart. It’s also number one in nine Caribbean countries on Apple Music. The producer of the track, Johnny Wonder, told THE STAR that there is a lesson in the collaboration for young dancehall artists. He said it shows that even though you do things differently if you believe in your approach, you can make it. He added that even though young acts are taking a different path to the veterans and it doesn’t mean that they won’t be successful.

“What this does for the young artistes is give them hope. It saying to them, if Skilli can do it, then maybe we can do it too one day. Quality cannot be stopped, so young artistes, just keep on going. Don’t mind the heat, just keep doing your thing,” he said.

Johnny Wonder orchestrate the Nicki Minaj and Skillibeng collab

He also shared how the collaboration came to be. “Nicki just had a baby and wanted to come back, and this was one of the songs she wanted to be a part of. It was on her radar, and that just goes to show how big Crocodile Teeth is. It was also on Drake‘s, Bobby Shmurda, Burna Boy and all those other big-name stars who were singing along with it,” he said.

Johnny Wonder and Bounty Killer

Amazingly, he added that the entire thing took a week to do, and it happened so quickly because of Nicki Minaj and her team’s love for the track. “That song is massive. I think it was bigger than Skilli at one point and once you have a huge song, the possibilities for you as an artiste are endless. It’s impressive and the sky’s the limit right now,” he continued.

What’s equally as impressive is that the producer has been churning out hits for over 30 years now. Even though he took a break in the 90s, he returned in the 2000s with a bang. He’s worked with some of the big names in dancehall like Bounty Killer and Elephant Man. Following his latest fire collab, he spoke with the Gleaner as well about his endurance in the genre. He explained that to make it, one needs to be prepared to work hard and never give up because “there’s no space for lazy people in the music business.”

He added that you also have to believe in yourself even when things seem impossible.

“I have been doing this for a while, and I have had huge successes on the international scene, but none of that came easy. I have had to persevere through a lot of things because this industry is full of obstacles. You have to be committed to working seven days a week, 365 days a year. If you want to be successful in this game, you cannot be lazy. You have to stay one step ahead,” he went on to say.

His passion for the genre began when he was just a teen growing up in Brooklyn, and he felt that he had to do whatever it took to ensure that reggae and dancehall artists get a bigger platform to perform on. While he’s achieved that for the genre many times, he believes that the moment he knew it could be done was when he got the chance to work with Bounty Killer for his 1996 album, My Xperience.

That album would become one of the greatest bridges between hip-hop and dancehall as Wonder was able to bring together a star-studded cast, including acts like the Fugees, Mobb Deep, Raekwon, RZA, and Busta Rhymes. Even Bounty Killer has publicly said that he thinks that’s his best album ever.

“I took on Killer’s My Xperience project, and working with him really helped me establish dancehall on a global scale. We worked with the Fugees and many other big names, and it was just a whole experience. That album was something special. I loved it. The world deserved to see and hear this talented man,” he added. Following that outstanding effort, New York became his playing field where he was able to work with a lot more artists.

He also revealed to The Gleaner that he’s not done, and he has new music on the way. He said that he has a new Squash, a new Bounty Killer, and some more Skillibeng in the works. However, he admitted that he prefers to work at his own pace, so there is no timeframe for when these tracks will be released.

“My dream for the Jamaican industry is to push reggae and dancehall music to its true limit. This music industry can go so far, and we just need to facilitate the growth in any way possible,” he added.

Nicki Minaj Addresses Alleged Cocaine Use On IG Live

Nicki Minaj took to Instagram to address rumors that she has been using drugs.

The Trinidadian rapper went Live on Instagram Thursday, May 13, to promote her Beam Me Up Scotty mixtape, which dropped moments after she ended the Live session. Her Barbz showered their queen with love, and she reciprocated with promises of new material, among other things. Nicki Minaj was full of life and optimism as she spoke about what is to come. It turns out that was not the only observation made by fans. Some Instagram users speculated that the rapper was sniffing consistently throughout her Live and concluded that she was on drugs.

The “Anaconda” rapper went Live again earlier today (May 14) to deny the rumors, reiterating that she has never used coke.

“I don’t know if it’s just me, but I wouldn’t be embarrassed about any f**king drugs I did, that’s why I talk about the motherf**kin drugs I do in my motherf**king music. Always have, always f**king will,” She said.

“If I’m off em, I’m off em child, but I want to make this clear so open everybody’s ears, clear your ears out. I have never, ever in my life with my hands on Jesus Christ, and y’all know how I feel about my Lord and savior. Never in my life, ever, not even once sniffed coke. Ever,” She clarified.

The “Moment 4 Life” rapper went on to explain that she was sniffing throughout her Live because of her allergies. She adds that her natural body temperature is lower than the average person, according to her doctor, and this causes her to feel colder than everyone else. In addition, she says she also gets sick very easily, which is why she has always refrained from using drugs like that. She explained that she actually doesn’t judge persons who snort cocaine.

“I have a lot of friends, or acquaintances in the industry who do coke. I don’t judge them for it but I’ve never tried it, never wanted to, never asked them to,” She declared.

The rapper added, “Especially in the fashion world, that’s so common and normal, but yes… That’s the thing, when people used to lie about me I never used to clear my name and there was someone who took a major step and told that lie to people and I never addressed it because I thought it was too ridiculous at the time to address but something just told me to now.”

Nicki Minaj Drops “Crocodile Teeth” Remix With Skillibeng On ‘Beam Me Up Scotty’

Nicki Minaj released her mixtape “Beam Me Up Scotty” on all streaming services, with three new songs. Among them, to the surprise of many Jamaican Skillibeng fans, is a remix of “Crocodile Teeth.

Nicki Minaj confirmed the remix on Thursday night (May 13), just a few hours before the song’s release. Needless to say, the confirmation has put many to shame who recently dragged the artiste for announcing the remix that they believed to be fake.

Fans and followers felt deceived after Skillibeng posted and soon after deleted a “Crocodile Teeth” artwork with the Trinidadian rapper’s name emblazoned with his. This resulted in the “Brik Pan Brik” deejay being mercilessly dragged on Twitter for using Minaj’s name for hype. As it turns out, Skilli’s announcement was not false, and Twitter is now calling on the public to apologize.

“NICKI JUST ANNOUNCED SHE DID THE REMIX ON CROCODILE TEETH!!! APOLOGISE TO SKILLI BBC BENGGGGGG YUHS,” one person urged. Another commented, “On behalf of the Jamaican family & the barbz, Skillibeng, they would like to apologize for any inconvenience they may have caused you.” Meanwhile, another warned, “After today ya’ll better stop sleeping on Skillibeng & that’s on Mary haddda lil lamb!”

Of course, the remix is nothing less than impressive, having racked up over 372 thousand views in 9 hours that propelled it to trend at #6 on YouTube. Nicki Minaj opens the song with a hot intro displaying her inner Caribbean, with her Trinidadian accent thick in some parts of the song.

“Might teck a gyal man, I know the opps out / Dem bright, f**k I look like in your eyesight? / Gyal I try it, but it not quite right/ They wan’ fight cah tru dem wah hype,” she raps.

Skillibeng follows with the chorus and other verses. Fans have commented that the remix is, in fact, “a beautiful combination of voice and sound.”

The original “Crocodile Teeth” was released in October 2020 and is Skillibeng’s biggest song to date. The song has gained a lot of traction since its release from both local and international audiences and celebrities.

Notably, Minaj is no newcomer to Dancehall collaborations. The rapper had previously collaborated with dancehall acts, including Beenie Man, Mavado, Gyptian, among others.

Migos announces new single “Straightenin” off Culture III coming this Friday.

This Friday (May 14) will no doubt be the most festive day of the week as it relates to new music releases. The hip-hop community is under the promise of projects from J. Cole and Kodak Black and a single from returning rapper Nicki Minaj.

Migos has added their name to the list of hot releases coming up on Friday. On Wednesday (May 12), Offset posted the cover art for the song “Straightenin” with the caption revealing the release date, “5/14 midnight.” Takeoff and Quavo made similar posts and received similar feedback from fans excitedly anticipating the new song.

The trio has been teasing the public with snippets of the single for some time, vibing to the song up to last month. The song might be the lead single from the group’s highly awaited upcoming album, Culture III. The full album will be released sometime this year, but the exact date has not yet been revealed.

The album will follow their “Culture II,” project which was done in 2018. Culture II was a double album that consisted of 24 tracks. The album was diverse with features from different artists, including Drake, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Ty Dolla Sign, Gucci Mane, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz, and Post Malone. Production work was also done by a variety of collaborators, including Pharrell Williams, Buddah Bless, Metro Boomin, Kanye West, Murda Beatz, and others.

Fans are speculating that “Culture III” will be bigger and better, especially after Migos was featured on DJ Khaled’s album “Khaled Khaled.” Many commented that the group’s part on the song “We Going Crazy” featuring H.E.R left them yearning for more and definitely looking for it in the upcoming album.

Nicki Minaj Flexes Pink Richard Mille In Rolls-Royce Truck Ahead Of 1st IG Live

Nicki Minaj is bent on making an entrance.

The “Super Bass” rapper recently announced her return to the hip hop scene with a promise to release new music come Friday, May 14. Fans are eagerly anticipating the release, which Nicki Minaj has been promoting since the start of the week. Monday was all about the Queen appearing as bare as one can be on IG. On Tuesday, she gave a lesson on how to set a thirst trap, and on Wednesday, Nicki showed just why she is a “Boss A*s B*tch.”

Nicki Minaj posted a video on Instagram cruising in her Rolls-Royce Cullinan and sporting a pink Richard Mille on her wrist. She captioned, “Going live tmrw night @ 11PM EST- it’s the PINK Richard Milleeeee 4 meeeeee. Only 8 in the world. Anyway, be on time tmrw night.”

Fans are speculating that Thursday’s LIVE will be about her return as well as her new release. A snippet of the song can be heard as Minaj rolled up. The “Barbie Tingz” rapper had disclosed a snippet of lyrics from the song in a previous post.

“B**chs act like they want action, heard they want action, b**ch we ain’t duckin no action. I’m bout to give em dat traction, send a distraction- then ima line ’em like FRACTIONS. F R I D A Y,” she wrote.

While Nicki received immense props for stunting in her Rolls Royce, her husband Kenneth Petty picked up some heat after he was spotted chilling in the passenger seat.

“It’s her husband sitting over there like a lil kid for me,” one person commented. Another added, “She should have driven solo my opinion.”

It is safe to say Petty is not really a favorite of Nicki’s Barbz, and many were openly dissatisfied with her decision to marry him. This may be partly because he is a registered sex offender who was convicted of first-degree attempted rape in 1995. He also pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in 2006 and served time in prison.

Petty made headlines when his relationship with Nicki was made public in December 2018. The couple welcomed their first child in September last year, which has possibly led to Nicki’s music and social media hiatus.

Rihanna & Nicki Minaj Starts Following Each Other On IG Again, Are They Working On New Music?

Nicki Minaj and Rihanna are following each other again as the Queen rapper prepares to make her return to music.

On Monday, Nicki Minaj sent her fans into a frenzy when she posted for the first time in a while, seemingly announcing her highly anticipated return to music. The Young Money rapper who took a hiatus from the music after starting her family has kept fans wondering when she would be back ever since she announced her retirement in 2019. While she has been on a few features, we are yet to see the rapper officially re-emerge with a solo single.

Barbz may have prompted Nicki’s impromptu return after they got the #LLCParty hashtag trending on Twitter last night, leading the fan-favorite track by Minaj to become her best performing single of 2021 overnight. “LLC,” which was released as part of the rapper’s 2018 Queen album, entered the Top 30 on the US iTunes chart, which is a new peak.

Nicki Minaj took to Instagram on Monday (May 10) to post a seductive photo of herself covering her lady parts with cushions while sitting on an office desk. In the caption, the rapper wrote “FRIDAY,” leading fans to believe that the rapper has something in store for them. Along with the pleasant surprise of Nicki’s return, it turns out the rapper is also following Rihanna again and vice versa.

The Queen Radio star and Fenty Beauty boss have not been following each other on Instagram for the last couple of years. Fans suspect that the Bajan superstar unfollowed the rapper around the time she was feuding with Remy Ma, but all that seems to be a thing of the past now that they have both hit that follow button again.

Fans are speculating that the Caribbean superstars reuniting on the gram may be a sign that they’re about to drop a new song together. Given Rihanna’s similar musical hiatus, no one is quite bold enough to get their hopes up about that. However, one can dream.

Nicki Minaj Announces New Music After Ending Social Media Hiatus

Nicki Minaj has announced her return to music after ending her hiatus from social media.

The wife and mother is emerging months after the birth of her son and also the death of her father recently. On Monday, fans went into a frenzy after the Queen of the Barbz posted two images on her social media showing her decked up in Chanel from head to toe.

The two shots show Nicki Minaj partially nude wearing custom pink Chanel crocs, accent glasses with various Chanel props around her, including pink fluffy heart-shaped pillows that she covers herself with.

The post is only captioned “F R I D A Y” with the peace out sign. Fans shared their excitement at her return and especially since this would be the first new music that she’s releasing since 2018 when she launched her studio album Queen.

Last year November, she released “What That Speed Bout” with YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and before that, she released “Whole Lotta Choppas (Remix)” and joined ASAP Ferg and MadeinTYO for “Move Ya Hips.”

Nicki Minaj

The rapper welcomed her firstborn in September and thereafter took a hiatus from the music scene. At a time she was expected to return, news broke that her father was killed in a hit-and-run accident. Fans, however, kept her music alive and have even caused her to have new records with her existing songs.

Days ago, the Barbz came together on Twitter in their usual trending fashion, and they promoted Nicki Minaj’s song “LLC.”

Apparently, the Barbz intended to show fan love to the Queen in an effort to get her to release new music! On Friday, the song became the No. 1 trending hashtag in the United States and worldwide with over 133,000 tweets. Artists like Doja Cat got in the fun as she reposted on her Instagram storytelling fans to stream the song.

“LLC,” is from the album Queen, and after the song was streaming, it became Minaj’s best performing single for 2021 so far. The song entered the Top 40 of the iTunes US Chart since being released in 2018.

Skillibeng Teases “Crocodile Teeth” Freestyle With Nicki Minaj

Skillibeng teases his upcoming “Crocodile Teeth” Freestyle with Nicki Minaj.

Ever since emerging on the scene, Skillibeng has shown all the qualities of becoming a master of the dancehall genre. He’s managed to cop some impressive collaborations along the way, including top dancehall acts like Dre Island, Tommy Lee Sparta, and dancehall superstar Popcaan. Now he’s looking to take his music to an international level and has announced his biggest potential upcoming collab to date, a freestyle remix of his massive hit “Crocodile Teeth” with multi-platinum rapper Nicki Minaj.

He revealed the exciting news on Instagram with the caption: “50,000 comments.” Fans immediately began to react to the news. Lila Ike, who he has a track with, said: “Run dat fuuuuh,” while Shenseea and Shaneil Muir added flame emojis to show their support while ShenYeng calls it a “big look”. The post, which was made a short while ago today, May 8, has already been liked over 50,000 times.

“Yuh wicked more Dan Weh me tink,” one fan said, while another added, “Happy for you and Jamaica when you win everyone wins.” This fan chimed in with enthusiasm, “This ago sick when it drop mi gad.”

The track has already been massively successful on YouTube and has already brought in over 18 million views since it was released in October 2020. Just last week, Canadian rapper Tory teased a new track he recorded on the Skillibeng’s “Crocodile Teeth” riddim, an indicator of how popular the track keeps getting.

Lanez shared a clip of the track on Instagram and captioned it “@skillibeng #CrocodileTeeth …… should I drop this or leave this in the stash? … I think it’s fire tho … word to @ovoroxx cornrows.” The Esyde artist has enjoyed mostly positive feedback from fans ever since his break out hit “Brik Pan Brik” in 2019. That song has about seven million views.

Nicki Minaj, who has strong Caribbean roots through her birthplace Trinidad, has been quiet for a while now since she’s chosen to focus on her new family, but if she’s thinking about making a come back soon, then this collaboration is sure to produce some heat.

While Skillibeng is relatively new to the music, Nicki Minaj has been around for over a decade and is to date one of the most commercially successful rappers of all-time and perhaps the most success female rapper ever. She has sold over 137 million records worldwide. Despite not releasing any new music this year, her song “LLC” climb to No. 1 on the chart after her fans started pushing the single.

Nicki Minaj’s “LLC” Hit No. 1 As Her Fans Rally Behind The Single

It’s been a minute since fans heard anything new from rapper Nicki Minaj, but now she has a number one single.

Of course, she featured on a few tracks in 2019 and 2020 as a guest, but she hasn’t dropped a solo effort since her last studio album, Queen, in 2018. That’s primarily because she’s in sort of a pre-retirement phase, having said that she’s taking time to focus on her family and raising her newborn son with her husband, Kenneth Petty.

That isn’t stopping her ascendency on the charts, though. Even though she’s basically out of the game somehow, she’s still scoring hits. Thursday night, May 7, Nicki Minaj hit single “LLC” was given a sudden push by her loyal fans, aka the Barbz. The love from her fans has pushed “LLC” into the Top 30 on US iTunes for the first time.

According to social media page, Rap God, “LLC” becomes Nicki Minaj’s best performing single Globally in 2021 in just 8 hours.”

The Barbz made it their priority to try and encourage their leader to put out new music. So they got together and launched the “LLC Party” on Twitter. Soon after, the initiative “LLC Party” became the No. 1 trending topic in the United States and worldwide with over 133,000 tweets. Even Doja Cat encouraged the Brabz by telling them to stream the song on her Instagram Story.

The track also entered the Top 40 of the iTunes US Chart for the first time since its release some three years ago. Her fans could also be responding to Joe Budden’s call for her not to release music right now. In other words, Joe Budden thinks that Nicki Minaj should extend her hiatus from music. He made the statements during an episode of The Joe Budden Podcast where he, Mal, and Rory were discussing whether DJ Khaled’s Khaled Khaled was a hit or miss.

“Did you not just hear everything we said about Khaled dropping during COVID,” Budden asked Mal. “You want Nicki to drop right now? Nicki, I love you, I wish you and your family well, and that’s what I got.” It seems the fans have spoken, and they are patiently awaiting Nicki’s new music, if it’s even in the works.

Nicki Minaj Should Extend Her Hiatus From Music Says Joe Budden

After years of hitmaking and trendsetting, Nicki Minaj decided to take a well-earned break from her explosive career to spend time with her new husband and baby boy. Since her conspicuous absence from music, fans have continuously expressed their eagerness for new material.  However, not everyone agrees that it is the right time for the Barbz to return to the rap game.

On a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, Joe, Rory, and Mal debated about Nicki’s return to the scene after reviewing DJ Khaled’s newly dropped project, Khaled Khaled.

Confident that the world is ready for a Nicki Minaj comeback, Mal declared, “It’s time.  It’s time for a Nicki album.” Joe Budden was clearly surprised by Mal’s opinion, replying, “Did you not just hear everything we said about Khaled dropping during COVID? You want Nicki to drop right now?”

Clarifying that his opinion doesn’t necessarily reflect poorly on Nicki, Joe added, “Nicki, I love you, I wish you and your family well, and that’s what I got.”  It seems Budden thinks that dropping an album right now is a poor business decision, but Minaj fans are likely to disagree.

Many people in the hip hop world have been discussing Nicki Minaj’s place in music recently, particularly since critics and influencers have a hard time not pitting female rappers against each other. Since we are beginning to see increasingly more women rappers have just as much success as their male counterparts, fans and industry commentators are also more tempted to rank and categorize the ladies of rap instead of seeing them as the dynamic and multi-faceted forces that they are.

However, rapper Russ recently took to Twitter to make a strong point about the timing of Nicki Minaj’s career, saying, “Imagine if TikTok was out during Nicki Minaj blowin up era…numbers woulda been astronomical lmao.  Did it on em, only, anaconda, twerk it, FEELING MYSELF Man, soooo many like bruh lmao sh*t was already outta here but that woulda been insane lol.”

It’s true that Nicki has some of the most memorable and highly animated rap songs of the last couple decades, so it is easy to imagine the endless TikTok dances she would have inspired.  But of course, it is never too late to make a Nicki Minaj track go viral on TikTok!

Stefflon Don Catches Heat From Nicki Minaj Barbz Over This Freestyle

Nicki Minaj Barbz are going after Stefflon Don for seemingly sounding like the Trinidadian rapper in a new freestyle.

When it comes to fandoms, Nicki Minaj definitely has one of the most formidable group of fans on the internet. Known as the Barbz, they are always ready and willing to go to bat for the “Queen” when warranted and in the latest case, also when unwarranted. British rapper Stefflon Don is the latest person to find herself on the receiving end of the ire of Nicki’s stans. And what did she do to deserve the vitriol? Well, she simply posted a freestyle.

The freestyle posted on the singer’s Instagram page with the caption “Crocodile Teeth Fi a Fake Friend”, sees her rapping with her signature Jamaican accent as she talks about fake friends and liking “bad man.”

The video was quickly picked up and reposted by several blogs, and that is where the drama begins. On The ShadeRoom in particular, many fans were not here for Stefflon’s freestyle as they thought she was copying Nicki and not paying homage.

One Nicki stan commented, “To dislike Nicki so much she sholl look and sound just like her….” The comment was partially in reference to Stefflon’s blue and green pastel-colored hair. Nicki Minaj was the first female rapper to embrace pastel-colored hair, with her signature pink tresses.

Another Nicki fan said, “I thought it was a Nicki voice over remix or something.” And a third fan commented, “One of Nicki’s sons.”

Despite the Nicki backlash, many IG users were here for the freestyle, with some defending Stefflon, arguing that her accent and delivery were authentic as she is of Jamaican background. One fan said, “She’s not following Nicki. That’s this girl real accent lmao y’all need to behave.”

Stefflon Don was born in Birmingham, England, but she is of Jamaican heritage and is fluent in the island’s native tongue, Patois. Nicki Minaj was born in Trinidad hence her own island girl accent. The similarity in sound between the two is, therefore, coincidental and less likely as a result of Stefflon deliberately trying to copy Nicki’s flow, and thankfully for Stefflon, there were a few of her fans who highlighted this.

Sadly, this is not the first time that the singer has been accused of trying to steal Nicki’s flow. The Barbz have regularly pitted the two against each other. Things came to a head in 2018 when Stefflon commented on the beef between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, stating she was disappointed in Nicki. Barbz responded harshly to her comments, sending threats to the singer.

Ever since they have berated Stefflon for refusing to pay homage to Nicki, this continues despite the fact that she has said several times that she is a fan of Minaj and has never had any beef with her.

Joe Budden To The Grammys, “Nicki Minaj Needs Her Flowers”

Joe Budden is calling out the Grammys award committee for consistently snubbing Nicki Minaj and not recognizing her talent for shattering the glass ceiling as it were, paving the way for young rappers entering the game.

Joe Budden was speaking to the fact that the “The Pinkprint” artist has not been recognized by the Grammys in spite of being the blueprint for the new age rappers. Budden is not and was never a fan of Nicki Minaj. However, he says respect is due to the Trinidadian-born female rapper, who is one of the greatest rappers of the 2010s decade for her numerous awards and overall contribution to female rap.

The former Slaughterhouse rapper made the comments during the latest episode of his eponymous podcast, where he asked why the Recording Academy has failed to recognize the New York rapper’s achievements and dominating influence.

“Nicki Minaj needs her flowers. Whoever the Grammy board is, whoever’s on there, y’all are not the ones that get to determine that Nicki Minaj and all of her impact and influence don’t get to win an award,” Budden said. “I’m sorry. I’m done with those days. Y’all are not the fuckin’ gatekeepers, the barriers of entry—y’all are not any of that … And now we’re at a stage when we have to acknowledge the, not the impersonators, but the people who were inspired by that act. It’s the same thing like when some of these people, I see the Drake influence there; call me dick rider, whatever, who knows.”

Joe Budden said the awards Doja Cat and others received made him reflect on the fact that the Grammys might end up only giving Nicki her roses after she leaves, something that music culture has moved past. “But Nicki is in that same boat. I don’t think too many more years need to go by when she’s not awarded for her efforts, that’s how I felt watching Doja Cat and some of the winners there.”

Meanwhile, his co-hosts speculated how the media or the public might react with “flowers” galore if “god forbid, something were to happen to Nicki.”

Nicki Minaj has been recognized as one of the most influential artists in hip-hop over the past decade – dropping multiple platinum records and rising to the No. 1 spot on various charts and accumulating many notable awards.

She has received almost a dozen Grammy nominations but has not won a single category during her career, which spanned more than 15 years.

Nicki Minaj’s Mom Carol Maraj Files $150M Lawsuit Over Father’s Hit-And-Run Death

Nicki Minaj’s mother, Carol Maraj, is suing the man that is responsible for the hit-and-run killing of her husband, Robert Maraj.

The civil lawsuit is seeking $150 million dollars in damages for wrongful death of the 64-year-old who was struck down while walking across a street in Mineola on February 12. The defendant in the case, Charles Polevich, failed to render assistance and even went to the extent of concealing his actions by cleaning and concealing the Volvo car involved in the accident.

According to police reports, Robert Maraj was walking on a street in Long Island when he was struck. After hitting Maraj, police say that Polevich walked over to the victim and asked if he was okay before he fled the scene. He didn’t call for help or reported the incident to the police.

Maraj’s widow Carol filed the lawsuit on Friday at the State Supreme Court in Nassau County. Civil Rights Lawyer and Activist Ben Crump who is the Attorney representing the Maraj family in the case, says the defendant was irresponsible and negligent, which led to the elder Maraj’s death. He tweeted, “Paul Napoli and I havae filed a $150 million lawsuit in the hit-and-run death of Robert Maraj, @Nickiminaj’s father. Charles Polevich was not only irresponsible & negligent in hitting Maraj, but was more concerned about running away and hiding than seeking help.”

He added, “Polevich’s behaviour was criminal, cowardly, and immoral. We will hold him responsible for his reckless actions that led to Robert Maraj’s death.

Polevich is facing criminal charges, including leaving the scene of an accident that led to death and tampering with or suppressing physical evidence. He had pled not guilty and is currently free on a $250,000 bond.

Meanwhile, Polevich’s attorney Marc Gann has said that an insurance company will handle the civil case but declined to comment further on the case. He, however, said that his client Polevich, 70, had a “tremendous amount of empathy for the family, the loss that they’ve suffered and expressed condolences.”

Gann told TMZ, “The question of whether there was negligence and degrees of negligence will be determined by the court. The $150 million amount seems to be over the top.”

Loni Love Backs Up Tiffany Haddish Comments About Nicki Minaj Punctuality

Tiffany Haddish is liking tweets about her comments on Nicki Minaj, while Loni Love agrees with her that the rapper isn’t the most respectful you will find.

Grammy Award-winning comedian Tiffany Haddish got herself mixed up in a bit of controversy recently after she angered Barbs when she spoke of Nicki Minaj in a less than positive light. After a fan on Clubhouse told Tiffany that she is the “Nicki Minaj of comedy,” she retorted that, “unlike Nicki,” she treats people with “respect and dignity.” Tiff has been dealing with the wrath of the Barbs ever since. While she hasn’t tweeted about the drama directly, she has been cosigning tweets from other people about it.

Among the posts that the comedian has liked is one that questioned why she was even compared to Nicki Minaj in the first place. Another tweet that Tiffany liked was from a fan defending the rapper, claiming she only gets disrespectful when people come for her. “Nicki is only disrespectful when she is disrespected. Everything she has said has come to light being right!” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Tiffany’s debatable remarks were cosigned by Loni Love, who recently revealed during Nightly Pop on E! that she doesn’t necessarily disagree with what was said. “She is correct. Nicki can be a little, you know, not punctual,” Loni said. “I had her on the show, on The Real, and girl was worth it. She was late. She was about an hour late. We had to go buy chicken for her whole crew. It was a demand. It was Popeyes.”

Loni said after showing up an hour late, Nicki did a great job on the show, but she and her crew never got around to the food she demanded. Though Loni didn’t mind getting in on the grub herself, she says while waiting for Nicki. She accompanied the production assistant to get the food, only for it to stay sitting there after Nicki left.

The diva-like behavior is nothing strange for celebrities as they are usually given the option of choosing what they’d like to have in their dressing room when they’re invited to talk shows like The Real. It is their prerogative what they choose to put on that list and if it will be succinct or extensive. Nicki showing up an hour late also comes with the territory, and she doesn’t mind bragging about it in her rap lyrics either.

Do you agree that Nicki Minaj doesn’t treat people with respect, or is it all just a day in life?

Megan The Stallion Disagrees With The Weeknd Saying Grammys Rigged

Megan Thee Stallion doesn’t think the Grammys is rigged which is a staunch contrast from other artists like The Weeknd.

When discussing the Grammy’s you’re bound to get a slew of mixed reactions, both positive and negative in nature. Each year following the aftermath of the event, many entertainers take to social media to give their opinions on the legendary proceedings. This year was no different as upon conclusion of the 63rd annual Grammy Awards show held on Sunday, there were still a few artists and music industry players who felt that the entire process to select winners yearly is a “rigged one”. Numerous individuals have hit out, calling the annual show “corrupt and sexist,” and some have even dared say it is biased for “the white male.”

Entertainers who have cried foul over the annual awards show include Canadian singer The Weeknd, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, and recently rapper Lil Wayne to name a few. Addressing this year’s event, Wayne boldly tweeted, “F**k the Grammys.”

But is there any merit to their claims? It depends on who you consult with, but it seems this topic is not one that will be definitively concluded. The other side of this spectrum sees some entertainers having a more balanced view. One such entertainer is rap superstar Megan Thee Stallion who is fresh off her wins last night at the Grammy’s.

TMZ caught up with the “Body” rapper and asked her to give her views on artists calling the Grammys “rigged.” Megan said, “Hell no the Grammys ain’t rigged. B**ch, you lose some you win some.” The rapper was further questioned about her thoughts on singer The Weeknd boycotting the Grammys, to which she expressed, “We love The Weeknd, we stan.”

The Weeknd reportedly decided to boycott this year’s Grammy’s, and he also recently declared that he would not be submitting any future music to the Recording Academy. He told the New York Times, “Because of the secret committees, I will no longer allow my label to submit my music to the Grammys.”

Last November, The Weeknd, just like Nicki Minaj, did take a shot at the Recording Academy for being snubbed. Addressing the association, he wrote, “The Grammys remain corrupt. You owe me, my fans and the industry the transparency.”

In Megan’s case, congratulations are in order after she copped awards for Best New Artist, Best Rap Song for the track “Savage (Remix)” which features Beyoncé, and also Best Rap Performance. She was even bestowed with further accolades from singer Billie Eilish who won Best Record of the Year and dedicated her win to Megan, stating that she thought the Houston hottie should have won. With this, many have opted to inform Megan that she has not felt the cold, bitter hand of being snubbed by the Grammy’s.

Stefflon Don Addresses “Beef” With Nicki Minaj And Old Colorist Tweets

Stefflon Don is finally addressing the “feud” she had with rapper Nicki Minaj, and she is also responding to comments that she is a colorist based on a tweet that she sent out.

It seems that the British-Jamaican rapper is learning quickly that fans can make or break artists, or rather in present times; they can ‘cancel’ them, which can have a devastating effect on their income and earning streams. One such person is definitely Tory Lanez, who claims that following the Megan Thee Stallion shooting incident, his streams went down.

This was largely due to a social media movement called #ProtectBlackWomen, and persons that do the opposite face the consequence of the almighty dollar being withheld.

Now, Stefflon Don is addressing any misconceptions fans might have before it gets out of hand.

“Every time I am on a blog people want to bring up my past mistakes. So let me post it here MYSELF for everyone to see. Because you will not trick or scare me with something I my self acknowledged, owned and sincerely apologised for,” the “Hurtin’ Me” singer said.

She said that in spite of her making comments which are not socially acceptable now, she has learned from the past. “Yes this was me almost 10 years ago. Ignorant and angry So [sic] I directed this tweet at a girl who shaded me for my colour. I have grown since then and owned up to my mistakes and this is not a reflection of the Woman I am today! I have apologised and moved on I hope you can too.”

her original tweet had said, “All you dark-skinned hating on light skinned bitches don’t act like if god gave u a choice you wouldn’t change your colour lool.”

She also addressed rumors that she had a beef with Nicki Minaj and clarified that she remains a fan, and sort of apologized for the reactions her comments had caused. Both Minaj and Stefflon are of Caribbean descent, with Nicki of Trinidadian and Stefflon having Jamaican ancestry. Issues between the two women arose in 2018 following the altercation between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B in which Minaj had gloated that Cardi B had suffered a beatdown at the hands of Rah Ali.

Stefflon, however, did not like the behavior of Nicki Minaj and said, “@Nickiminaj ur a big grown woman talking about beating someone’s head in???? QUEEN???? Im disappointed in you so many people look up to you show us better,” she had written under a Shade Room post.

“I love nicki as an artist! always said this and always will. Nobody can ever change that Respectfully. And hate train..I ddnt even know she was getting hate cuz I wud have kept my opinion 2 myself. But a problem W her never it was fans doing the most But just know I BEEN a fan.”

British Rapper Lady Leshurr Says Label Offered Her Deal To Diss Nicki Minaj

Female rapper Lady Leshurr says her label once offered her a lucrative deal to diss Nicki Minaj.

British rapper Lady Leshurr has revealed she was offered £250,000 to do a “diss track” about female rapper Nicki Minaj. This shocking revelation came out during an interview on the Thanks A Million podcast hosted by Angela Scanlon. According to the rapper, Atlantic Records kept pushing her to do the track, but she refused.

Leshurr said at the time she had “never seen money like that.” Claiming she had never spoken with Minaj but has only seen her rise and considered her to be “amazing. She said,” she could not be the person “to pull another female down.”

According to Leshurr, she cried when she was offered the deal to insult Minaj. She said, “all I’d thought about was buying my mum a house and that would’ve been the right amount of money.”

For her, she said it’s about integrity: “Don’t just take things because it looks good right now. What is it gonna look like in five years to come? Ten years to come? ”

This is not the first time a female rapper has claimed they were being pressured to do a “diss track” or do something that would start a rivalry with another female artiste. Just recently, Cardi B told Mariah Carey she feels it’s harder for women in the music industry as they are constantly being “pitted against one another.”

Leshurr is currently featured on Dancing On Ice with skater Brendyn Hatfield.

Do you agree with the choice she made?

Nicki Minaj Father Hit-And-Run Driver Faces Serious Charges

A man who police say is behind the hit and run killing of the father of Nicki Minaj, Robert Maraj, has turned himself in to police and is now facing some serious charges.

According to police, the man whose name is James Polevich, is a Guam businessman, 70 years old, who tried to hide the 1992 Volvo that was used in the accident. He’s since been charged with leaving the scene of an auto accident and tampering with evidence after the accident just over a week ago that killed the senior Maraj on the spot.

Maraj, 64, died a day after he was hit by a car that was heading northbound on Roslyn road, Raff Avenue in Mineola, Long Island. The suspect Polevich only surrendered after the vehicle he drove was traced to his home in Mineola, where police saw the unexplained damage.

According to police, Maraj may have been on the road due to the snow pile-ups on the sidewalk as key U.S states experience snow. Police say Polevich failed to render assistance after hitting Maraj. “He was absolutely aware of what happened. He looked at the deceased and made the conscious decision to leave instead of dialing 911, instead of calling an ambulance for the man. He went home and secreted the vehicle, so he is well aware of what he did.”

Police say surveillance video from the neighborhood was used to track Polevich’s car. His bail is set at $250,000, and a judge has suspended his driver’s license, and his passport has been ordered to be surrendered as Polevich also seems to have a residence in Guam.

Meanwhile, Carol Maraj, the estranged wife of Robert and mother of Nicki Minaj, born Onika Maraj, says she was “very, very , very happy” with the arrest.

On the other hand, Nicki Minaj has not made a public statement regarding her father’s death as fans and friends send an outpouring of good wishes and support for her family. Nicki has in the past spoken about the traumatic childhood she experienced as her father was abusive to her mother. It is unclear what the state of their relationship was at the time he was killed.

Nicki Minaj’s Sister Ming Defends Her Baby Boy From Online Bullies

Nicki Minaj’s sister is defending her nephew from online bullies.

Queens rapper Nicki Minaj finally revealed the face of her healthy, bouncy baby boy a couple of days ago, and her loyal legion of Barbs have not been able to contain the joy-filled emotions since then. The chubby 3-month old baby boy was dressed in the latest Versace and even sported an iced out watch to ring in the new milestone. To top it off, his 38-year-old Nicki had nothing but praises for her Papa Bear when she wrote a truly moving caption.

She proceeded to thank the little guy for allowing her the opportunity to be the one who brought him into this world.

“Becoming a mom is by far the most fulfilling job I’ve ever taken on,” she confessed before sending her blessings to all the moms and moms to be. “Sending love to all the superhero mothers out there. Big hugs to all the women who have been pregnant during this challenging time.”

Sadly, even with the love meter almost at maximum, there were still a few persons who proceeded to ridicule Papa Bear. It seems he has very little to worry about since his aunt ensured she was on the prowl and disciplined the persons who had attempted to troll the little guy. The rapper’s younger sister Ming Maraj hopped into the comment section below an unspecified post and had these choice words for a few for one specific Instagram troll.

“You a clown body shaming a child, u know damn well you prolly was a fat baby too,” she penned. “Ur tf mad because u ain’t getting the attention u wish you had, ur mad because ur irrelevant.” Her protective rant also came with a fierce threat aimed at anyone looking to continue the wild and cruel act of ridiculing a baby.

Nicki Minaj to Host 10-Year Anniversary Virtual Party for “Pink Friday” Album

Nicki Minaj will hosting a virtual party for the 10th anniversary of her debut album, Pink Friday.

It is hard to believe it has been a full decade since Nicki Minaj dropped her hit album, Pink Friday, especially considering that most Nicki fans can still rap every lyric as if they have kept the project on rotation this entire time. But here we are, ten years later, and Nicki is continuing to give her fans a reason to celebrate one of her biggest achievements. Taking to Twitter to remind everyone that the album’s anniversary is fast approaching, Minaj wrote, “Barbz, Friday is the 10 year anniversary of Pink Friday. Get your outfits ready for the virtual celebration.”

Nicki fans went crazy over the announcement, apparently starting the celebration early, which prompted Minaj to add another tweet, saying, “Ummm barbz why yall starting the celebration already? It starts tmrw night. I’m not even dressed yet. Go to bed.”

Barbz, Friday is the 10 year anniversary of Pink Friday. ?? get your outfits ready for the virtual celebration. ?

Ummm barbz why yall starting the celebration already? It starts tmrw night. I’m not even dressed yet. Go to bed ??

— Mrs. Petty (@NICKIMINAJ) November 19, 2020

The enthusiastic reaction to news of an album anniversary party is understandable considering the project earned Nicki her first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 as well as multiple Grammy nominations. While Nicki had been making waves with her mixtapes before Pink Friday’s release, the studio album is what really put her on the map as one of the best rappers in the game.

Fans are also hoping that a celebration for her landmark album might lead to news of an upcoming project, considering the Queens superstar hasn’t dropped a full-length album since 2018’s Queen. She has stayed plenty busy over the last two years, though, recording features for other artists while managing to get married and give birth to her first child, a little boy, born in October of this year.

For now, fans will have to make do with a stroll down memory lane during this mysterious virtual celebration, and perhaps Nicki will grace us all with news of her next big drop.

Nicki Minaj and Tekashi 6ix9ine Mines Platinum With “Trollz”

Nicki Minaj and Tekashi 6ix9ine got a platinum plaque for “Trollz.”

Flamboyant rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has been laying low ever since the release and ultimate downward spiral of his album Tattle Tales. Thankfully, his absence has not stopped his core fans from tuning in to his music to get a fix off the rainbow-haired troll. 6ix9ine may just owe his fans and presumably his favorite collaborator Nicki Minaj a great deal for ensuring he stays streaming and gleaming with yet another plaque from the RIAA.

The former Trey way rapper recently secured another Platinum award for his track “Trollz.” The song and music video, which dropped in June, marked his second release after flexing his get out jail card provided for being a model informant. The song would follow his massively successful “GOOBA” and would earn him his first Billboard Number 1.

Nicki Minaj also contributed and benefited heavily from the feature, since she also copped her first Billboard Number 1, along with gifting her Barbz a verse many now listed as one of their all-time favorites from their Queen. “Trollz’s” official music video now stands at over 300 Million views on Youtube, which simply dwarfs other tracks from Tattle Tales.

The official view count for “Trollz” is only negated by “GOOBA,” which has over 600 Million, and another Nicki Minaj assist cut “FEFE,” which is mere inches away from giving 6ix9ine is first 1 Billion streamed video. The union between Nicki and Tekashi has definitely provided some epic collosol streaming numbers.

A closer examination of other tracks that Nicki Minaj has featured on actually reveals that the female powerhouse definitely pulls her weight when it comes to those numbers. Thankfully Nicki didn’t hang up her rapping boots as she planned in 2019, or Doja Cat and 5ix9ine may have never grabbed their first Billboard toppers.

By the way, what Tekashi 6ix9ine song are you still vibing to?

Nicki Minaj’s Younger Sister Ming Maraj Spits Bars For “Moment For Life”

Nicki Minaj has had an amazing influence on her sister.

The “Superbass” star is currently the most famous person in her family, but she best holds on tight to that title as her sister look to be following in her footsteps. Ming Maraj is Nicki Minaj’s younger half-sibling from her dad’s side. The sisters were together in Nicki’s home country of Trinidad & Tobago in February, where the rapper shared a video of herself alongside her little sister. The resemblance was uncanny, leaving no doubt that the pair share genetics. Many IG users commented on the similarity, remarking that Ming is just as beautiful as her sister. Now, another video has emerged — this time with Ming doing her best impersonation of the older Minaj.

The clip was recorded back in 2014 and featured Ming laying down beats to Nicki’s 2010 hit, “Moment for Life.” One needs to look super closely to realize that it isn’t actually just a younger Nicki rapping the lyrics, as Ming not only looks freakishly like the Queen of the Barbz but is also including fresh attitude and hand gestures that she obviously picked up from watching the latter do her thing.

Should Ming decide to embark on a hip hop career of her own, she may find it difficult as a female rapper of color, according to her sis. During a new interview with her former manager, Big Fendi, Nicki Minaj discussed the hardships faced by women of color, but that she doesn’t feel that it was responsible for her fame. “I will say dark-skin and brown-skin women have to work extra harder in any field,” the 37-year-old rapper said. “I don’t feel like my complexion is the reason why I made it, but I also try not to be blind or play dumb to what’s really happening in the world.”

Could Ming be joining that clique? Watch this space.

[Couplet 1]

Bebe Rexha – No Broken Hearts (feat. Nicki Minaj) lyrics

[Intro: Bebe Rexha + Nicki Minaj]
Oh baby, oh baby I know that you’ve been hurting
(This is a star studded collaboration)
Oh baby, oh baby I know that you’ve been hurting
I’m Nicki Minaj, that’s Bebe, let’s go

[Hook: Bebe Rexha]
No broken hearts in the club, no tears in the club
Cause we gon get it poppin’ tonight
No broken hearts in the club, more drinks pour it up
Cause we gon get it poppin’ tonight

[Verse 1: Bebe Rexha]
We going straight to Miami
Hop on a plane don’t need no plans
Shining so hard like a Grammy
Forget all the players what they did
We gonna be buying the drinks, we gonna be buying the drinks
Line up the bottles, line up the models, we gonna forget everything

[Pre-Hook: Bebe Rexha]
Oh ain’t nobody going home, you know what you came for
To dance off the pain, don’t feel a thing, just feel the champagne
If you’re feeling lonely, baby let me hear you sing

[Hook: Bebe Rexha]
No broken hearts in the club, no tears in the club
Cause we gon get it poppin’ tonight
No broken hearts in the club, more drinks pour it up
Cause we gon get it poppin’ tonight
We only got one life, so let’s go hard till the day we die
No broken hearts in the club, more drinks pour it up
Cause we gon get it poppin’ tonight

[Verse 2: Bebe Rexha]
We gonna do it real biggie
Sky is the limit in this town
We taking over the city
We too high to bring us down
We gonna do what we do, we gonna do what we do
Three in the morning, four in the morning, meet you for eggs in the morning

[Pre-Hook: Bebe Rexha]
Oh ain’t nobody going home, you know what you came for
To dance off the pain, don’t feel the shame, just feel the champagne
If you’re feeling lonely, baby let me hear you sing

[Hook: Bebe Rexha]
No broken hearts in the club, no tears in the club
Cause we gon get it poppin’ tonight
No broken hearts in the club, more drinks pour it up
Cause we gon get it poppin’ tonight
We only got one life, so let’s go hard till the day we die
No broken hearts in the club, more drinks pour it up
Cause we gon get it poppin’ tonight

[Verse 3: Nicki Minaj]
Ay yo Bebe, anybody hatin’ need a pee pee
Sip a little Myx, pop pills till I’m sleepy
I’m the one that bust it open out in Waikiki
Pull up in the Ghost, I’m creepy
They don’t want beef, we proved it
Niggas better keep it on wax like a Q-tip
Keep his dick wetter than the cruise ship
Flower than a tulip, flyer than your new bitch
I do’s it, yup I’m up two zip
Girls is my sons, I’m giving them milf teas
They be sweatin’ me, headbands and gym tees
Like bad knees on Dirk Nowitzki’s, it is going down like M. Lewinsky’s
Wrist freeze yep my wrist on pink skis
Ring finger be shitting on my pinky’s
Make em mad, aww man I got them hating bad
Blood clot money green like Jamaican flags

[Hook: Bebe Rexha]
No broken hearts in the club, no tears in the club
Cause we gon get it poppin’ tonight
No broken hearts in the club, more drinks pour it up
Cause we gon get it poppin’ tonight
We only got one life, so let’s go hard till the day we die
No broken hearts in the club, more drinks pour it up
Cause we gon get it poppin’ tonight

[Verse 2: Nicki Minaj]
Yo, gotta hit him on the jack
When you comin’ back? Where is you at on the map?
Everything is intact
Could have been a seamstress, still wouldn’t cut him slack
Pretty much, ain’t got a clue
Itty bitty piggyback off everything I do
But I’m still droppin’ jaws
Got ’em lookin’ like James Harden at the awards
Back to you, I’m so into you
For real, bread like I’m kin to you
If you a 10, I add 10 to you
They be mad when I tend to you
That’s what the bae like
Call me Buffy ’cause that’s what I slay like
These bitches, I son ’em like it’s daylight
These niggas wanna know what it tastes like
What it tastes like, yo, what it tastes like, yo
They wanna know what it tastes like, yo
All this ice, it should taste like snow
Get kimonos and let’s fly to Tokyo
Pretty, pretty please baby, won’t you cop this for me?

[Pre-Chorus: Post Malone]
Baby could you? I got too much on my mind right now
I ain’t got the time to get you Saint Laurent down
Could you? I got too much on my mind right now
Time to hit Rodeo, give my baby 30 thou’

[Chorus: Post Malone & Nicki Minaj]
Ball for me
B-ball for me, yeah
Ball for me
